Guitarist · Singer · Songwriter · Actor
From power chords to the spotlight — a lifetime of living out loud, on stage and on strings.
Mark Hodgdon has spent more than four decades doing what most people only dream about — living at the intersection of rock and roll and the theater. A guitarist, singer, and songwriter, Mark developed his craft through relentless performance, a deep love of song, and an instinct for storytelling that crosses whatever stage he happens to be on. Based in Asheville, NC, he brings that rare combination of road-worn musicianship and stage-trained discipline to every room he walks into.
Since 2016, Mark has been the lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of Brewery Road, a live rock & roll power trio that has earned a devoted following for its raw energy and tight command of the stage. Whether driving through classic rock anthems or cutting loose on originals, Brewery Road is built around the chemistry that only comes from years of playing together — and Mark's guitar work is the engine at the center of it. Away from the band, he performs as a solo artist, weaving his own original songwriting alongside covers that reveal the breadth of his musical taste.
Theater has always been the other side of Mark's creative life. He built his early stage presence with the Clemson Players in the mid-1980s, taking on leading roles in Brecht, Lanford Wilson, Neil Simon, and Alan Ayckbourn — while also serving behind the scenes as stage manager and playing guitar in orchestra pits for musicals. After a long hiatus, he returned to theater in 2024 with everything a seasoned performer brings: timing, presence, and the ability to hold a room. Recent credits at Haywood Arts Regional Theatre, Hendersonville Theatre, and South Appalachian Repertory Theater span comedy, drama, and musical theater — proof that some performers only get better with time.
